"Ninety-nine times out of a hundred I would agree that Oliver Stone has a "people don't talk like this" problem, which varies in egregion (if that's a word) depending on the actors involved but which, if you are to get through a Stone opus, you will have to find a way to ignore or set aside somehow, because Stone is not concerned with nuance really at all, and you have to stand back from his work to take it all in, because whether it succeeds or not, this is the scale on which it's intended to be taken in."
